ORTONVILLE, MI – Dr. Angela Harrell, a leading Ortonville dental implant dentist, recently completed her dental implant fellowship at the renowned Misch Implant Institute.
Dr. Harrell, who operates Brandon Family Dental, finished her fellowship Sept. 20 after training under world-class dentist Dr. Carl Misch, who founded the Misch Implant Institute in 1984 to offer training in dental implants to dentists across the world.
“Our goal has always been to offer as many services as possible to give comfort and convenience to our patients,” Dr. Harrell said. “By attaining my fellowship accreditation, I can treat a number of dental implant cases and provide patients with gentle and compassionate care.”
The Misch Implant Institute provides a series of training programs in surgical dental implant placement, bone grafting, computer-guided implant procedures and dental implant restorations. Dr. Harrell completed hours of continuing education and live-patient training in order to receive her fellowship.
Since graduating dental school, Dr. Harrell has worked to expand her clinical skills through continuing education and advanced training opportunities. With a fellowship in dental implants, patients can trust that Dr. Harrell uses state-of-the-art practices to place dental implants for patients with missing teeth.
Brandon Family Dental is a modern facility with state-of-the-art technology and modern operatories. Dental implants, which nearly mimic the function of natural teeth, are used to replace missing teeth or to stabilize dentures.
“Patients are very happy that they can have all of their dental needs provided near home rather than having to be referred elsewhere,” Dr. Harrell said.
Brandon Family Dental, 1201 S. Ortonville Rd., offers general dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, root canals, pediatric dentistry, wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants and orthodontics. Her practice offers Invisalign, a revolutionary treatment that uses clear aligners to straighten teeth. Using Invisalign, patients can discreetly fix alignment issues without the embarrassment of traditional metal braces. The aligners, which are to be worn for at least 22 hours a day, can be easily removed for cleaning. Patients receive new aligners about once every two weeks as part of their treatment.
Dr. Harrell is from Ortonville and earned her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Oakland University and then graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 2007. She practice in California, New York and Grand Rapids, Michigan and before moving back to her hometown. She completed a one-year residency program in oral surgery following dental school.
While Michigan dentists are required to take 20 hours of continuing education every year, Dr. Harrell completes more than 100 continuing education hours every year and has taken fellowships in dental implants, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics and oral surgery.
Dr. Harrell was named the dentist of the year while working with Wynn Dental Corporation in California in 2011.
