You would go to the dentist, except …
… you’re busy.
… something came up.
… you forgot.
You may have told someone else these were the reasons, but inside you know it was something else. You are afraid of the dentist. If that’s the case, it’s OK. We don’t take it personally. In fact, we want to help you learn to manage and (eventually) overcome your dental anxiety.
One of the ways we do this for our patients at Brandon Family Dental is with sedation dentistry. Today, we’ll be taking a little time to remind you of the benefits of this service, and we welcome you to call 248-469-0218 if you have any more questions about our approach to patient care and comfort at our Ortonville, MI office.
Work With Us
You might not believe it, but you may just start looking forward to visiting the dentist if you start coming to see us.
We have helped countless patients find a way to cope with their anxiety through a combination of dental sedation, our comfort options and our caring team of dental professionals. We want you to feel relaxed throughout your visit with us, which is why we want to get to know you and your needs.
Maybe you had a bad dental experience when you were younger. Maybe you say something in a movie or a television show that shaped your view of dental care. Maybe one of your parents was afraid of the dentist and that was something you picked up on while you were growing up.
Whatever the reason, our sedation options can:
- Keep you pain-free
- Keep you worry-free
- Prevent you from gagging
- Help you remain calm during your visit
You know that regular dental care is good for your oral health. Together, we can find a way to make your appointments easier to handle.
Find What Works For You
If we have learned anything in our combined decades of experience, it’s that no two patients are exactly the same. With that in mind, here are some of the ways we have helped our guests feel at home in our office.
Inhaled sedation, also known as laughing gas, has been used by dentists for more than century. This is a fast-acting form of sedation. All you have to do is breathe in and let the gas take effect. This is great for patients with mild anxiety.
Oral sedation is excellent for patients who are more fearful or who are scheduled for a more complex procedure. By taking a pill prior to your appointment, you can be relaxed by the time you are ready to sit in the chair. Keep in mind that the effects of this sedation should last for a few hours, so you should arrange for someone else to drive you to and from your appointment if you choose this option.
Many people also find relief with our comfort items. Blankets and pillows can help you feel cozy. With our movie glasses, you can watch television to distract you while we work to keep your smile looking great. You can also schedule a longer appointment, so you can feel comfortable knowing that you can take a break if you ever feel overwhelmed.
We Hope To See You Soon
No matter how long it’s been since your last check, we will be happy to welcome you to Brandon Family Dental. Let us know if you have dental anxiety when you call 248-469-0218 or contact us online. That way, we can discuss ways to make your first appointment as easy as we can for you.
