ORTONVILLE, MI – Dr. Angela Harrell, a Ortonville family dentist, is sponsoring two local youth baseball teams this summer.

Dr. Harrell’s practice, Brandon Family Dental, regularly supports youth organizations and local athletic teams. This summer, the practice will sponsor a tee-ball team and coach-pitch team. Dr. Harrell said many of the youngsters participating in the leagues are her patients, adding that she is excited to support local children’s programs.

“Part of our mission is to make a difference in the community, and these summer baseball leagues are a great opportunity for us to do just that. We can put a smile on a child’s face while showing our dedication to the community,” Dr. Harrell said.

Brandon Family Dental recently helped launch a new soccer league this spring, providing support through sponsorships and uniforms.

“We’re a family dental office, and we intend to show our support for families and children in this community,” Dr. Harrell said. “It’s an incredible honor to give back, but it also allows us to build a rapport with patients outside the office and settle any fears of anxiety they may have about the dentist.”

Brandon Family Dental, 1201 S. Ortonville Road, offers general dentistry, restorative dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, root canals, pediatric dentistry, wisdom tooth extractions, dental implants and orthodontics. Her practice offers Invisalign, a revolutionary treatment that uses clear aligners to straighten teeth. Using Invisalign, patients can discretely fix alignment issues without dealing with the embarrassment of traditional metal braces. The aligners, which are to be worn for at least 22 hours a day, can be easily removed for cleaning. Patients receive new aligners about once every two weeks as part of their treatment.

Brandon Family Dental, operated by Dr. Angela Harrell, is a modern facility with state-of-the-art technology and modern operatories. Dr. Harrell places her own dental implants. Dental implants, which nearly mimic the function of natural teeth, are used to replace missing teeth or to stabilize dentures. The titanium implants naturally fuse to the jawbone, stopping jawbone deterioration, a common problem for patients with removable dentures.

Dr. Harrell is from Ortonville and earned her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Oakland University and then graduated from New York University College of Dentistry in 2007. She practice in California, New York and Michigan and before moving back to her hometown. She completed a one-year residency program in oral surgery following dental school.

While Michigan dentists are required to take 20 hours of continuing education every year, Dr. Harrell completes more than 100 continuing education courses every year and has taken fellowships in dental implants, orthodontics, cosmetic dentistry, endodontics and oral surgery.

Dr. Harrell was named the dentist of the year while working with Wynn Dental Corporation in California in 2011.
