Replace Your Missing Tooth or Teeth with Implants
If you are afraid to smile because you are missing one or more of your teeth, the team at Brandon Family Dental wants to hear from you. We are committed to making sure that your teeth look exactly the way you want them to. From single tooth replacement to full-mouth replacement, dental implants are an ideal option for many individuals.
What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants consist of three parts: a small titanium post, a restoration, and an abutment that connect the post and restoration. The posts are placed into your jaw to mimic the roots of your teeth. When your jawbone has fused to the posts, they will act as anchors for your restorations. When ready, crowns, bridges, or dentures will be placed on top of the posts to provide you with a natural smile.
Who Is a Good Candidate for Dental Implants?
A good candidate for the dental implant procedure will be someone who is in good physical and oral health. The person ideally should be a non-smoker, as smoking can cause problems throughout the healing process. In addition, an ideal candidate should have enough bone in their jaw to support the implants. For some people, however, we are able to create needed bone structure with bone grafting, and we can also use mini implants that require less bone density for placement.

Your Dental Implant Consultation
During your implant consultation, Dr. Harrell will look over your teeth to determine if you are a good candidate for the procedure. During this time, she will address any concerns she has for your teeth and recommend additional procedures that may need to be done before the implant procedure can occur.
We will take X-rays of your teeth to get a better understanding of your bone density and any work needed to prepare for the surgery. You will be able to ask questions and schedule your procedure while you are here.
What are the Benefits of Implants?
Because of the strong titanium post that fuses to your bone, implants are a permanent solution to missing teeth. Because they allow you to chew and speak properly, you will be able to restore your jawbone and prevent bone loss. You’ll also enjoy the benefits of eating the foods you want. If you choose to secure your dentures with implants, you can say goodbye to messy adhesives forever! You’ll also notice a difference in your facial appearance with the structure implants provide.
